About the Artist

Barbara Kenneally, a graduate of Cork College of Art and Design, is a visual artist based in Cork. Her practice employs both photography and glass art. Her photography work is in the collection of The Office of Public Works and her glass sculptures have been selected for exhibitions in Ireland and the UK. She has been commissioned for both public and private works.

Observing the interplay of light on and beneath the surface is a constant feature of her work. 2020 is an extraordinary year. This body of work for Halftone was created by photographing some of her glass sculptures before they headed to an exhibition in the UK. While the sculptural forms have their provenance in rocks from the abandoned copper mines at Allihies in West Cork, the artist’s own portrayal of her unique pieces spark the imagination. Each work is a limited edition print (1/10) using archival ink on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, framed using UV glass.
