About the Artist

Ruth Crothers is a Textile Artist and Designer from Belfast. She studied at The Glasgow School of Art and also has an MFA in Design from Ulster University. She regularly works as a commercial textile designer, previously in a London Print House and currently, remote working, for a New York based Textile Design Studio. Clients include Seedhead Arts, Daisychain Inc., Boundary Brewing Company, Vault Artist Studios and Belfast City Council. The majority of her days are spent working/playing from her shared studio space based in East Belfast where she is an active member of Vault Artists NI. Ruth couldn’t be happier and contently enjoys all her designing, day dreaming and scheming. She works on projects which can be and are not limited to, Painting, Illustration, Print, Graphic Design, Typography, Street Art and of course Textiles including bespoke Screen Printing and Embroidery commissions. She had her first solo exhibition, ‘Still Life and the Screen’ in Pollen Studios during Craft Month in August 2019.
