Rice fields can be found in the countryside around the cities of Vercelli and Novara, which are famous for the quality of the rice grown there. "A legacy to be defended with measures aimed at safeguarding elements and aspects that still exist in a world destined to disappear". The perpetuation of these virtues is entrusted to the black and white images of Gianno Berengo Gardin, which testify to a peasant reality at sunset. Through the author's eye, in corners and country glimpses, one perceives "The magical and fascinating breath of the rice field with a human face".
