Besides providing botanical content in a simple, personal and cozy way; The Plant offers plant lovers a new look at greenery by featuring the works of many creative people who share our love for plants.
As a curious observer of ordinary plants and other greenery, the magazine presents a monograph on a specific plant; bringing together photographers, illustrators, designers, musicians, writers and visual artists, both established and emerging, from all over the world. These people share with The Plant their unique perceptions and experiences of plants
The pages of issue 20 are filled with a thoughtful collection of stories and encounters, each meant to go beyond borders and redraw our vision of the future. This the case in Claire Touzard’s conversation about current-day dilemmas with the unorthodox philosopher Emanuele Coccia; and in Dal Chodha’s exploration of the work of textile artist Celia Pym in a feature photographed by Deo Suveera and Pamela Dimitrov. You’ll also be taken on a scenic stroll around the English country-side with Margaret Howell, as told by Lucy Kumara Moore in Walks of Life; encounter the free-spirit ceramist Shun Kadohashi; explore Matthew McLean’s view of Nan Goldin’s work; and discover Ramdane Touhami’s hiking staples, photographed by Scheltens & Abbenes. As a reminder of brighter times there are plenty of tales about flowering blooms and dream-like gardens: Takashi Homma’s portraits of the “New Botanical Order”, a series styled by Shotaro Yamaguchi; Alessandro Furchino Capria and Hisato Tasaka’s fashion approach to our “Immediate Environment”; a visit of Dubuffet’s Jardin d’émail; Ola Rindal’s bright memories from last summer; and our regular Loose Leaves section with stories by Elein Fleiss, Farmacy Kitchen,Le Palais Idéal, Lasting Impressions and Conie Vallese.
