Poetry Ireland Review is a journal of poetry. Published three times a year, the Review includes the work of both emerging and established Irish and international poets, essayists, critics and visual artists.
Poetry Ireland Review 144, edited by Jessica Traynor, features new poems from Rebecca O'Connor, Jane Robinson, Harry Clifton, and Bill Manhire, as well as work from rising poets such as Clíodhna Bhreatnach and Yubeen Lee, among many others.
Special additions to this issue include Kimberly Campanello's 'versioning' of an extract from Dante’s Commedia, and a poem by Palestinian poet Maya Abu Al-Hayyat. Irish-language editor Aifric Mac Aodha’s selection includes poetry from Simon Ó Faoláin and Caitríona Ní Chléirchín.
In this winter issue, there are 29 poetry publications reviewed, including new collections from Dane Holt, Gustav Parker Hibbett, Fióna Bolger, Paul Muldoon, and Ellen Cranitch. Other prose in this issue includes Dylan Brennan's wide-ranging exploration of poetry and grief, and an interview conducted by Ibrahim Fawzy with Iraq-born, Ireland-based poet Majed Mujed, who talks about 'grief, love, hope, writing, war, and more'.
Issue 144's artwork is provided by Dublin-based artist and illustrator Denise Nestor.
