About the Artist

Berta Mars is a visual artist from Barcelona who is based in Dublin. Her practice is
primarily photography and moving image, often exploring topics that involve human
relationships to capture the essence of people and places.
In 2023, she graduated from Griffith College Dublin with a BA (Hons) in Photography.
During her final year, she began “The Loudest Silence” as her graduate project, for
which she was shortlisted for the RDS Visual Media Awards and selected to be part
of the PhotoIreland RADAR program.

Her work was also chosen to represent Ireland on the FUTURES platform, a Europe-
based photography initiative that supports and nurtures the professional development of emerging artists worldwide. Additionally, her work has been
selected multiple times to be part of the “Halftone” Print Fair at the Library Project
and featured in the RHA Annual Exhibition 2024.
