Commissioned by The Lab Gallery in response to the exhibition Hypnagogia, A not so final resting pose is a collection of texts varying from email threads to essays to outdated scripts, which considers the rise of the ‘wellness’ industry and our modes of self-regulation through meditation, medication, yoga or indeed, addiction.
Texts include correspondence with doctorate researcher Alessandra Mileo, during a residency at Insight centre for data analytics, around artificial intelligence and trauma, the manifesto of Activist Neuro Aesthetics by Warren Neidich and Jan Verworets’ essay Let all them brains be wicked places which is a lyrical journey through the exhibition and its’ ideas. Also featured: Sheena Barrett and Hillary Murray.
This work was supported by Dublin City Council and Creative Ireland. It was produced as part of Hypnagogia which was supported by The Arts Council of Ireland and Insight Centre for Data Analytics.
