A collection of photography by 1eurofiddy, Irish street photographer who captures the raw and unsanitised reality of life on the streets of the nation's capital.
This zine documents the day-to-day life of The Liberties, Moore street, market traders, and true Dubliners. These areas in Dublin constitute rich social, cultural and historical capsules, evident in the people, trades, buildings and atmosphere - now all in danger of disappearing.
Marks of rebellion old and new can be seen on the streets and in the people. The image of Michael Malin looks over The Liberties’ flats and Anne Devlin, until recently, watched the Meath street traders and shoppers. The former will soon be gone and the latter is gone already, a reflection of the wanton tidying away of Irish culture in favour of a lifeless investor friendly facade.
This feeling of impending threat coupled with the unrelenting tide of development and gentrification compelled the photographer to begin documenting the authentic character of a city trying to forget itself.
