State of Guerrero is Mexico's leading opium producer. This primacy has led to internal feuds between criminal groups that compete for territory. One of the most evident effects related to violence is the abandonment of large numbers of families and citizens from their villages, exposing more and more realities to threats related to the violence of war between the various criminal groups. The project was awarded and exhibited at Visa Pour l'Image in Perpignan with the Visa d'Or Humanitarie CIRC and awarded by the Red Cross in the Andrea Stenin competition in 2019. It received the Voglino Award at the Festival of Ethical Photography in Lodi. The project is supported in communication by the author's agency LUZ, the Mexican Red Cross and the French Red Cross, while for data and content by the research institute Noria Research.
