Pigeon House, Dublin.
The Poolbeg Chimneys are among the tallest structures in Ireland and are visible from most of Dublin city. The name “Pigeon House” comes from the inn established by John Pigeon to provide refreshments
for the workers building the Great South Wall.
Joe Hollingsworth is a young Irish illustrator living and working in Dublin. He has developed his unique style influenced by Pop Art and American comic books – but the subject matter for this range of greetings cards is much closer to home.
In collaboration with designer OystercatcherTF, 'The Irish Landmarks Series' is made up of six beautifully produced A6 greetings cards with original illustrations. The landmarks sit on a white background defining their own shape and outline. The postcards are designed and printed in Ireland.
A selection of landmarks from Counties Dublin and Kilkenny including; the East Pier Lighthouse, Dún Laoghaire, a Dublin Georgian Door, the Killiney Obelisk, the Medieval Rothe House and Killamery High Cross in Kilkenny, and the famous Pigeon House chimney stacks synonymous with Dublin.
