About the Artist

Caitriona Dunnett is an Irish artist based in the UK. Her practice explores memory and the traces people leave behind, the paths they weave through time and the legacies attached to them, specifically looking at land and nature, through alternative photographic processes. Experimenting is central to Dunnett’s practice, as is finding the appropriate technique to convey her stories, mostly working with the cyanotype, a process blue in colour, which she tones with natural tannins. Dunnett has a BA Hons in Photography from Nottingham Trent University and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. Recent exhibitions include online with Autograph, Ballinglen Arts Foundation Biennial, Beyond Silver, with the London Alternative Photography Collective, RBSA Photography Prize, Brighton Photo Fringe, PhotoIreland Festival, Format Festival and a solo show at Galway City Museum. She has been commissioned by Pembrokeshire County Council and worked on a Creative Lab with the University of Brighton and Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Her work has been supported by the Irish and English Arts Councils, The Richard and Siobhán Coward Foundation, Grain Projects and a-n The Artist Information Company. Her work was published by PhotoIreland and Parthian Books, and featured online with the Irish Times, Atlas Obscura and Photomonitor.
