About the Artist

Born in Dublin in 1984, Daniel Holfeld graduated with a BA [Hons] degree in photography from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2008. Over the next twelve years, he developed his expertise in fashion and commercial advertising photography, undertaking roles in art direction, content creation, brand development, and management. During this time, Holfeld worked on campaigns for luxury clients and international publications.
In 2020, Holfeld debuted his series "The Space Between" at the Royal Institute of Architecture of Ireland, which was later exhibited at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London. RIBA acquired editions of the series for their prestigious Robert Elwall collection. That same year, University College Dublin commissioned Holfeld to create a body of work celebrating Belfield 50, showcasing his distinctive approach to architectural photography.
Holfeld's current practice focuses on abstract representations of architecture, drawing inspiration from modernist aesthetics. His concept of "emotional architecture" emphasizes emotional engagement in perceiving and interpreting built environments. His abstract compositions invite viewers to engage personally, fostering unique, individualized experiences.
