About the Artist

Frankie Malone started his professional career in Dublin. He worked in Temple Lane Recording Studios for 2 years as the night manager before starting his career in design and photography. He worked as a desktop publisher for Graphic Reproductions before becoming the picture desk manager at Inpho Photography. He left Dublin for Barcelona in 2000 and has worked as a freelance photo editor, location manager and photo retoucher for various photographers since. He started the creative agency Studio 83 in 2019 where they provide photography and design solutions. They have worked with clients like MNAC, (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya), Apple, Circ d’Hivern and Fundacio La Caixa.

Frankie’s photography has been published in La Mono Magazine, Adobe’s 99U Magazine, The Guardian, The British Journal of Photography and Metropolitan Magazine. In December 2020 his project ‘Train’ was shortlisted for the publication ‘The Crisis & the Future of Democracy’ from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. In 2021 the British Journal of Photography chose 2 of his images from the same project for their online exhibition ‘Edition 365’. In November 2022, 2 more images were chosen for PhotoIreland’s Halftone Art Fair.
