The new instalment of Craic, 'Coming and Going' by James Robinson is an attempt to piece together a personal puzzle. A coming-of-age story set between Northern Ireland and a move to London.
The zine captures fleeting moments before catching flights, friends, family and irreversible feelings on love and loss. Mixing archive family images from an expired roll of film found in the garage in his hometown of Ballymoney, James interweaves personal portraits taken over the past couple of years.
Named in this year’s DAZED100, the magazine seeks to capture the nuance and dynamism of contemporary youth culture in the region. Craic sidesteps easy cliches around the complex history of the North, instead acting as a vehicle for its rich visual lexicon, humour and the energy of a new generation.
