Pallas Projects Studios are very excited to announce the publication of "Traces in the Landscape: Stone Desert, Alps, and Atlantic Shore", a new artistic publication edited by artistic-director Mark Cullen, Luise Kloos and Josip Zanki.
This collection is the culmination of international exchanges with artists and curators in Croatia, Austria and Ireland across 2021-2023.
'Stone Walls', 2021 led by Josip Zanki, explored dry wall stone techniques as a tool for artistic expression and site-specific practice at Kožino, Privlaka, National Park Paklenica, Velebit Mountain, Fortica at the Island of Pag, Paška Vrata, Croatia in 2021; and continued as 'Wood and Stone', 2022 led by Luise Kloos, which extended the materiality of the project to include an exploration of natural materials, interventions, sited objects and performances in the natural environment of Grafenbergalm, Styrian Alps, Austria; "Staring at the Sea: Land art and reflection symposium", 2023, an artist's retreat curated and administrated by Pallas' own Mark Cullen and Eve Woods foregrounded studio activity, reflection and group work alongside exploration in the open landscape in the surrounds of Cill Rialaig Artists Village and the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry.
The volume features essays, anecdotes, and meditations on the impact of landscapes upon current and previous generations of artists and their work.
