Age twelve, I borrowed my parents’ box camera. The world opened up; seeing the land, watching the land, observing the land, considering the land, studying the land, perceiving the land. To photograph the land, trying to understand how our environment shapes us and in return how we shape our environment. Age sixty, still looking, still watching, still seeing the dignity in the landscape. Like the Irish and their landscape I persevere.
